Kristin Helms

Kristin is a graduate from Auburn University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She received a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Kristin has worked in the pediatric setting for nine years. Kristin is originally from Elba, AL. She loves being involved in the community through her church, Junior League of the Wiregrass and as a board member of Dothan Area Young Professionals.

Jake Helms

Owner, CFO

William "Jake" Jacob Helms graduated from Wallace Community College with his Associates degree in Electrical Technology. He is originally from Geneva, AL, and has two children Brandt and Hallie Kate with wife, Kristin. Jake enjoys playing golf, spending time at the beach or pool and spending time with his family. A fun fact about Jake is that he is a huge Star Wars fan and has been since he was a kid.

Addison Scott

Occupational Therapist

Addison is originally from Geneva, Alabama, and was raised in Headland, where she has lived most of her life. Her faith is a strong motivator, guiding her to live each day with kindness, gratitude, and compassion for others.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from Auburn University in May 2023 and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Alabama State University in December 2025. Addison has gained valuable experience working with children through a variety of clinical settings during her education. She also loves spending time with her niece and nephews.

Outside of work, Addison enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and reading. She is also a proud dog mom to her two golden retrievers, Bo and Buddy.

Fun fact: Addison once read 82 books in a year!

Allison Edwards

Originally from Memphis, TN, Allison went on to attend University of Tennessee before earning her degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Alabama at Birmingham. She spent nearly 20 years in Birmingham before making the move to Dothan with her family.

At work, she is motivated by making a meaningful impact in her clients’ progress. She finds the most fulfillment in collaborating with students and celebrating even the smallest steps forward along the way.

She and her husband, Adam, have been married for 15 years. Together, they have three boys—Phoenix, Beck, and Ashby—who stay busy with sports and video games. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her on the tennis court, playing mahjong, or browsing local antique shops.

A fun fact: She played soccer most of her life and could have played in college!

Amanda Kirkland

Occupational Therapist

We are thrilled to welcome Amanda to our team! She has already been such a fun and valuable addition to our FPT family.

Originally from Enterprise, Alabama, Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Huntingdon College in May 2021. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from UAB in December 2023.

Outside of work, Amanda and her husband, Will, love spending time with their two puppies. She enjoys sewing projects to decorate her home and has a passion for sourdough baking and gardening. When she’s not at home with her fur babies, you can often find her riding through the cow pastures with Will while he works the cows.

Fun fact: Amanda loves thrift shopping and is always on the hunt for unique finds to add character to her home!

Amanda Williams

Speech-Language Pathologist

Amanda has already brought so much joy to the FPT family! She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Auburn University before completing her master’s degree at Valdosta State University. Amanda joins our team with a wealth of experience and a true passion for working in pediatrics. Throughout her career, she has worked with patients with a variety of diagnoses, including speech and language delays, phonological disorders, apraxia, dysphagia, and cognitive-linguistic impairments resulting from CVA and TBI.

As part of an Army family, Amanda grew up in several places but spent most of her time in Enterprise, AL. She and her husband, John, stay busy at home with their three daughters and two dogs!

Fun fact: Amanda is a huge fan of The Greatest Showman!

We are thrilled to have Amanda on our team and can’t wait to see all the incredible progress her kiddos achieve with her support!

Anna Barron

Administrative Executive, HR Director

Anna attended Wallace Community College where she received an Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assistant. She is a Dothan native, and is married to Michael Barron; together they have a son, Maddox and a daughter, Mary Kannon. They also have a Goldendoodle, Honey. Anna enjoys playing outside with her children, taking trips to the beach, and shopping. Anna has worked a total of nine years intermittently in the outpatient and inpatient setting. A fun fact about Anna is that she previously worked at Foundations under the previous name as a new grad in 2012. She is happy to have returned in 2021 in a different, but very fun role.

Ashley Reeves

Primary Scheduler

Ashley Reeves is the primary scheduler at Foundations Pediatric Therapy and one of the first friendly faces families meet! Originally from Dothan, she spent most of her adulthood in Birmingham before moving back three years ago and now lives in Midland City.

With 14 years of experience as a preschool teacher and time in administration, Ashley wanted a career change that still kept her connected to children and families—making Foundations the perfect fit. She loves supporting families, admiring the hard work they put into therapy, and cheering on patients as they grow and graduate.

Ashley’s own journey through physical and occupational therapy after a TBI in 2022 makes her especially passionate about the work done here. She’s also a proud mom of three, a sports enthusiast, a night owl fueled by coffee, and loves sharing her dad’s legacy as a two-time national champion under Bear Bryant at Alabama. Roll Tide!

Ashlyn Dunaway

Marketing Executive

Ashlyn Dunaway is originally from Dothan, Alabama. She is married to John Nathan who is a Transportation Technologist working with the Alabama Department of Transportation. Together, they have a sweet baby boy, Everett, that was born in April of 2021. Everett loves being outside and playing with monster trucks. She spends a lot of time making bouquets and beautiful arrangements with her sister for their floral business, Flourish Bloom Bar. Ashlyn is super crafty and also enjoys hand lettering signs and such for events. Although super busy, Ashlyn loves a slow day spent at home with her boys. The Incredibles is currently the movie of choice in their home.

Bailey Birdsong

Physical Therapist

Originally from Hartford, Alabama, Bailey earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Auburn University in May 2022 and went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Alabama State University in August 2025.

Bailey has a natural connection with children, developed through years of hands-on experience. She regularly spends time with her young niece and nephew and grew up babysitting and serving in her church nursery, giving her a strong foundation in caring for and engaging with kids of all ages.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and relaxing at the beach. She also helps care for her brother’s energetic German Short-haired Pointer, Beau.

A fun fact about Bailey: she once caught a sailfish bigger than she is! She also enjoys a good romantic comedy, with Sweet Home Alabama being a favorite for its humor and playful take on Southern life.

Brieana Johnson

Brieana has been a delightful addition to the FPT family! She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Tuskegee University and brings a wealth of experience and passion for helping children thrive. Brie has experience in the school and clinical settings as an OT.

Born and raised in Dothan, Brie is proud to be a Northview High School alumna. She and her husband, Malachi, are the proud parents of their sweet baby girl, Sage. In her free time, Brieana enjoys creating memories with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new hobbies like painting and crafting.

Here’s a fun fact about Brie: Matilda is one of her favorite childhood movies! Its themes of perseverance and using one’s unique gifts to make a difference reflect her own approach to her work as an OT.

Caroline Ledford

Physical Therapist

Caroline attended Troy University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She then attended the University of South Alabama, where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is from Rehobeth, AL, and is married to Nick Ledford. Together, they have a daughter, Mary Carmen, and one fur child, Winnie.

Caroline enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, completing house projects, crafting, attending church, and doing hair and makeup for weddings and events. She serves as the Dothan Clinical Director and also works with our clinics and schools as a physical therapist.

A fun fact about Caroline is that she has been singing since she was 3 years old!

Catherine Cureton

Catherine "Cat" Cureton attended the University of South Alabama where she received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. She is a Dothan native and has been working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the pediatric setting since August 2019. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Colton, and has two children, Charlotte and Clark. Cat loves to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoys attending church, baking cookies and sourdough bread, and going on walks in her neighborhood. A fun fact about Cat is that she can easily impersonate the voices of others!

Celeste La Salvia

We're happy to have Celeste on our FPT team! She is originally from the Cleveland, Ohio region. Celeste graduated from Bowling Green State University and Cleveland State University. She is a dedicated occupational therapist who is passionate about working in a positive, growth-oriented environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and meaningful progress for the individuals she serves.

She met her husband, Kinoulu, at a Fort Lewis (JBLM) air show. He was stationed there as an Army air traffic controller and she was working as a civilian occupational therapist. After years of military moves, they have made Enterprise, Alabama their home.  Together, they have a daughter, Isabella, as well as a rescued chihuahua named Bruno.

Celeste has experience working with children, primarily with elementary-aged students. She is additionally involved in her daughter’s Girl Scout troop as a volunteer. In her spare time, Celeste enjoys spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoys summer days at the pool or beach, baking, trying new recipes, and recreating meals from her grandparents’ recipes.

Fun fact: She was unknowingly featured in an occupational therapy textbook—something she only discovered when a former coworker sent her the picture!

Devan McAllister

Devan is a native of Slocomb, AL. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Alabama. Devan is married to her husband, Brian, and they have two children, Levi and Montana. In her free time, Devan likes spending time with her friends and family, attending concerts and events with live music, exercising, online shopping, cooking, and reading. She loves reading books written by Taylor Reid and Kristin Hannah and watching rom-coms or movies based on true events. Devan has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for 7 years and has a total of 3 years experience working in the outpatient/private practice setting with children. A fun fact about Mrs. Devan is that she is an identical twin AND her sisters-in-law are also identical twins!

Donna Helms

Donna graduated from Auburn University with her Masters of Communication Disorders. She is from Geneva, AL and is married to her husband, George. Together they have two children, Jake (Kristin) Helms and Rachel Helms Simmons (Joshua Simmons) and two grandchildren Brandt and Hallie Kate Helms. Donna enjoys gardening in her free time. She has been a Speech Language Pathologist for over thirty-five years. A fun fact about Donna is that she loves blues and soft jazz music.

Haley Gray

We’re thrilled to welcome Haley to the team! She has already been such a joy to have around. Haley earned her bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama and her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montevallo. Originally from Alabama, Haley and her husband, Taylor, moved to Boston after graduate school—Taylor to pursue his career and Haley to begin hers. Now, they’re back in sweet home Alabama with their precious baby girl, Maeve, and two adorable pups.

Haley is a creative at heart, with a love for embroidery and crafting. She’s always eager to learn new sewing techniques and create unique pieces. A fun fact about Haley: she took singing lessons for 10 years and even performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City—not once, but twice! She first sang there at the age of 9, and again at 11. One year, she performed in both Chinese and Portuguese (even though she admits she had no idea what she was singing at the time!).

Haley’s true passion lies in helping kids find their voice. She’s deeply motivated by the joy of seeing a child realize they are understood or witnessing them communicate their wants and needs for the first time. She’s excited about all the fun and progress to come with the kids at Foundations, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board!

Jessica Knight

Jessica attended Wallace Community College where she received her associate in applied science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). She is originally from Geneva County. She is married to Jake Knight and has one daughter, Sarina. She enjoys fishing, hunting and is a huge sports fan. Prior to graduating from PTA school, she worked at Dothan Brace Shop where she held several certifications as a licensed mastectomy fitter, burn/compression garment fitter and off-shelf orthotic fitter. These previous certificates have given her extensive knowledge to provide orthotics for her patients and understanding of proper fitting of various DME equipment. She has worked in a pediatric setting for over eight years. Jessica’s favorite book is The Shack by William Young.

Jordan DeVane

Jordan attended the University of Alabama for her undergraduate degree and University of St. Augustine where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is a Dothan native, and is married to Bunk DeVane. Together, they have two daughters, Anna Chase and Ellyn, and three dogs, Mini, Chloe, and Freya. Jordan enjoys helping her husband with their family owned business, Artisan CrossFit, working out with friends, taking naps and trips to the beach with family. She has been a physical therapist for seven years and has treated children with various orthopedic conditions and injuries. A fun fact about Jordan is that she can walk upside down on her hands!

Joyce Scott

Joyce graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business from Sweet Briar College, a MBA from University of Georgia, and a MSOT from Brenau University. She also has 15 years experience in digital marketing, is a licensed realtor, and is a certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. She is originally from Cottonwood, AL, but lived in Atlanta, GA for 15 years! Joyce and her two sweet cats, Emma and Jamie, now reside in Dothan. In her spare time, Joyce loves spending time with family, traveling, hiking, riding horses, and seeing plays/musicals. Fun fact about Joyce: She loves to travel specifically to TV + movie filming locations. She’s been to Vancouver, Canada and Scotland to see some filming locations and saw some shows being filmed while she was there!

Kara Whitehead

Kara Horne Whitehead is originally from Crestview, FL. She graduated from the University of South Alabama, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Professional Health Sciences with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She then continued her studies at the University of South Alabama, earning her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.

Kara married her high school sweetheart, Drew, which brought her back to the Wiregrass area. Together, they have one daughter, Anna, and a Golden Retriever, Bower. She is involved in her church’s student ministry and enjoys making frequent Target runs.

Kara serves as the Enterprise Clinical Director and works with our clinics and schools as an occupational therapist. A fun fact about Kara is that she’s a big Disney fan and visits the parks multiple times a year!

Katie Curtis

Katie has already been such a fun addition to our team. She has worked with children in different settings for years and is excited to be serving more kiddos in Enterprise! Katie graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelors in Communication Disorders. She recently moved to the Wiregrass all the way from Arkansas! She and her boyfriend, Cameron, have a husky named Mishka. In her spare time, Katie loves to crotchet, read, and game! We are so excited to see what great ideas and attributes Katie brings to FPT and her patients!

Keileigh Williams

Keileigh is a graduate of Keiser University in Tallahassee, Florida, and is certified through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. She is originally from Marianna, Florida, and married her high school sweetheart, Garrett, in Key West in 2022. Together, Keileigh and Garrett have goats, chickens, and a dog named Chloe. They also "share custody" of two dogs, Oliver and Mollie Kate, with Keileigh's mom. Keileigh has two years of experience working at a school for students with special needs and also completed fieldwork within the schools. In her spare time, Keileigh enjoys going to the beach, hanging out on the river, napping, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. Fun facts about Keileigh: She is an only child and she has never broken a bone!

Kennedy McCord

We’re thrilled to welcome Kennedy back to FPT! A proud Auburn University alum, Kennedy earned both her bachelor’s in Communication Disorders and her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology— War Eagle!

She’s a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist who brings energy, heart, and a personalized touch to every child she works with. Kennedy specializes in language development, speech sound disorders, and reading intervention, always striving to make learning fun and meaningful.

When she’s not in the therapy room, you’ll likely find Kennedy needlepointing something adorable, cheering on the Auburn Tigers, getting lost in a good book, or soaking up sunshine at the lake. She loves spending quality time with her husband, Peyton, and their two sweet pups, Ivy and Gunner.

Laurel Hunter

Laurel is already bringing so much fun to FPT! She received her bachelor’s in Communication Disorders from Auburn University and then went on to receive her master’s at the University of Georgia! Laurel comes to us with great experience and a love for the pediatric world. Her specialty skills include Autism, reading therapy, Early Start Denver Model for Autism, play-based therapy training, and also Childhood Apraxia of Speech experience and training. Laurel grew up in Ashford and is excited to continue to help children learn and grow here in the Wiregrass Area! She and her husband, Cal, will be getting married in March of 2025! In her free time, she loves to spend time with family, read, cook, exercise, do wedding makeup, go to church, and study The Bible. Fun fact about Laurel: she is the reigning Little Miss Clayhatchee! (She never gave up her title after competing in Little Miss Peanut because they never had another pageant!) We are so excited to have Laurel at FPT!

Lexi McGee

Lexi has always had a love and patience for children! She is originally from Grandview, Texas and currently resides in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Lexi received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of North Texas. She is married to her husband, Jesse, and they have a daughter, Gracelynn (3), and a fur-baby, Sadie! In her free time, Lexi loves reading books, and she enjoys taking her daughter to parks and play dates. Her favorite book series are written by Rebecca Yarros. Lexi has been working in pediatrics since September 2019. She absolutely loves her career! A fun fact about Mrs. Lexi is that she played softball from age 7 to 19, and her goal as a child was to become a collegiate softball pitcher... which came true!

Kim Shepard

Kim attended Wallace Community College where she received her Associate of Science in General Studies. She is originally from Dothan, AL, and is the mother of two, Allye and Addison. Kim enjoys spending time with her girls, going to the beach, trips to the lake, and riding buggies. Kim has been working in the pediatric setting for ten years. She serves as primary scheduler for the Dothan clinic and billing coordinator for Foundations. One of Kim's favorite movies is The Notebook.

Makayla Crain

Makayla graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. She had additional hours in nutrition/sports nutrition while in school there as well. Makayala was a childcare teacher for 2 years and she has been a dance instructor for 5 years prior to receiving her PTA license. Her final clinical rotation was in a pediatric outpatient clinic in Mobile for 9 weeks. She is originally from Longbeach, MS. Her and her fiance now reside in Dothan with their fur baby, Cooper. In her spare time, Makayla loves to dance! When she was little, her pediatrician recommended dance classes to her mother because she had severe tibial torsion and she often tripped over her own toes! Dance class and regular practice at home helped Makayla overcome and eventually she excelled in the dance environment.

Michelle Daniel

Michelle is from Enterprise, AL and is married to her husband, Marty. Michelle has one daughter, Maddie and has two step-sons, Logan and Luke. Michelle loves anything outdoors such as going to the lake, camping, boating and hiking. She also loves football season and spending time with her family making memories. Michelle has been working in the pediatric setting for almost twenty years. A fun fact about Michelle is that most people don’t know that she loves to collect antiques.

Millie is from Enterprise, AL and loves to spend time with her husband, Blake and children, Ryles and Ellie. She has been working in the pediatric setting for a while now! One of Millie’s favorite movies is The Greatest Showman.

Molly Walker

Molly Walker is originally from Elba, Alabama. She graduated from Troy University with a Bachelors in Exercise Science. She then received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Alabama State University. Molly married her high school sweetheart, Stephen, and they enjoy playing outside with their toddler, Jay! Mrs. Molly also enjoys walking her dogs, traveling, spending time with loved ones and watching Netflix shows/movies. One of her all time favorite movies is Bridesmaids.

Nikki attended Wallace Community College where she received her associate in applied science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). She also has her Bachelor of Arts degree from Troy University. She is from Slocomb, AL, and is a mother to her sweet baby girl, River! She has a cat, Davos, and three dogs named Karloff, Dweezil and Zada. Nikki enjoys taking photos, traveling, going to concerts, being in nature and spending time with friends and family. Nikki completed a six-week clinical rotation at Foundations and absolutely loved it. This is her first job in the therapy field. A fun fact about Nikki is that she has visited all fifty states!

Sarah enjoys going to the gym in the morning, kayaking, jet-skiing, going to the beach and walking her dogs. She has been a Physical Therapist Assistant for three years. One of Sarah’s favorite movies is Sweet Home Alabama.

Sarah Palmer

Sarah attended Alabama State University and received her Masters in Occupational Therapy. She is a Dothan native and is married to her husband, Logan.  Together they have newly welcomed their daughter, Elisabeth James, and have one dog, Jax, who is a 5 year-old Cavapoo. Sarah enjoys cooking, going on walks, meeting friends for coffee, attending church, and spending time with her family. She has been working as an Occupational Therapist in the pediatric setting for a year. A fun fact about Sarah is that she has visited Disney World more than 10 times!

Taylor comes to Foundations as a young adult ready to serve the families we have the honor of partnering with. Inside the walls of our clinic, you will find Taylor welcoming in our families, answering phones, and organizing the days of our therapists. In her free time, Taylor enjoys spending time with her precious nephew. Fun fact about Taylor: She has an identical twin sister! Since November 2023, Taylor has owned her post as Primary Scheduler and has become family with our incredible Enterprise team.  She has always called Enterprise home and is happy to be serving others in her hometown.
